Sidenotes: With the imminent invasion of the White Huns, the Emperor of China has decreed that one man from each family in his empire must join the army to go to war. Mulan's family has no males other than her aging, crippled father, so to save him from going off to war, she steals his armour and weapons and rides off to join the army in his place, disguised as a boy. Her ancestors send Mushu (a rather miniscule dragon) to wake up a guardian to send after Mulan, but he ends up breaking the guardian's statue. He figures that, if he makes Mulan a hero, his former disgrace will be forgotten and everything will be OK. Mushu was first seen in Kingdom Hearts as a summon spirit.

Recruitment: She joins up pretty much as soon as you arrive in The Land of Dragons.
